Mare Adesso was designed by Italian graphic designer Matteo Girardi as a watch that celebrates nature and signifies freedom.

To read the time, the hours are displayed in the sun while the minutes are read on the whale's nose as it moves in and out of the water.

Matteo explains his inspiration for the design:

"Every year I look forward to summer, to escape the everyday reality of city life and visit the sea. it is one of my favorite places and I love to admire the ocean in all its splendor and imagine all the wildlife and eco-systems working below the surface.

My design was born from the idea of ??creating a watch that would be beautiful to look at and at the same time convey an important reminder: that man must not destroy nature but must live with it and respect it.

The sea for me is synonymous of freedom and purity but in recent decades pollution has profoundly changed it, I wanted to convey and remember that the sea is beautiful and habited by many wonderful creatures and for this it must be respected.

Working on such a small object was an interesting experience and it took me several days and attempts to find the right idea that could work. Having only recently recently graduated, this was my first collaboration, so I was very excited and determined to make this design special."
